What kind of hair products should I use? Gel, hair spray?

Sorry, I couldn't find any more pictures, I'll try to find more and add them if I can.

I want it to look perky and wispy.

I want the base of the ponytail to sort of stick out instead of just flopping down.

if i was to do this type of ponytail i would say to back-comb your hair where it just comes out of the bobble ner the centre, underneath where you want it to stand strong and stick out. this style will only really work if your hair is that short to start with, the longer your hair is the more it will flop. The sticky-out, edgy bits at the top of the ponytail are where her short layers in her natural hairstyle end so this look in a ponytali is achieved naturally by her haircut from when it is down. I would back-comb the underneath and hairspray it into place .

all u need for that is short hair, a straightener, and hairspray, anything else like gel for example would weigh it down

You need a flat iron to make your hair very straight and a little stiff. Straighten hair. Smooth in a little smoothing cream or a tiny bit of smoothing serum for shine. Pull loosly back into a pony tail. Let shorter pieces fall forward. Finish with hairspray.

it wont look perky unless you have shorter choppy layers. but a product that might help is bedhead mastermind. its in a little green can at any cvs or that kind of store.

this is easy u need to straighten ur hair the blow dry it then us like i spar of tresemme curl activator it doesnt make curls so dont worry about it

well, it works really well if you have short layered hair.

and if you do. just straighten it w/ a straightener. and it'll turn out like that! GOOD LUCK!
