Creative people please help!!!?

ok so for a college project we have to do a celebrity or characters hair-do on a polystrene (spelling?) head.

i decided to do medusa the greek mythology thingy with snakes as hair.

ive done it ok but it looks a bit boring the face and the hair are the same colour green thats what makes it look boring,

before the face was a diffrent shade of green but i have to make the face darker because you could see the paper mache.

i want it to stay green

i just need to know what patterns or what i could do to the snakes to make them look better!??? anyone know

Draw scale patterns on the snakes, and incorporate shading, not only on the snakes, but also at the hairline.

How about doing her hair in rollers? Leave the hair as snakes but curl them up so that only their heads stick out then you can really work on the snakes face.
