Beauty school?

i hope to move out to california and enroll in one.

my dream would be to become a celebrity/model hair stylist for photoshoots and whatnot, but i know it is very unlikely and i may be getting my hopes up but....

do you have any advice about it?

for instance certain schools in Cali that are good and whatnot.

I heard that the stereotype came from a long time ago.

Because blondes were the new trend and most celebrities had blonde hair. Since they were all actrors/actresses they didn't focus on school since they already had jobs and they weren't very smart.

Then they created the mold for all blondes.

From people like Mae West and Marylin Monroe (Gentlemen Prefer Blondes), who usually played dumb blond parts, and more recently Goldie Hawn and of course, Paris Hilton who just plays herself.

Interestingly there is an article in the Daily Mail (Monday) that reports on tests carried out at Paris Nanterre University, where men were shown pictures of women with a variety of hair colors, then made to take a general knowledge test.

Those who had seen blonds scored lower than the other colors, proving they say that people confronted by stereotypes, generally behave in line with them. Interesting, if nothing else ....

Odd Feelings?

I'm sixteen, and I feel odd. I can't really relate well to many people my age. When people are interested in concerts, celebrities, boys, makeup, hair, etc. (and pardon my stereotyping) I am interested in reading, self-learning, and since I am tired very often, sleeping. I rather talk to my teachers who are mostly more than 25 years older than me.

The other thing is even though I feel like this, I don't feel ready to be an adult or go out in the "real world."

Odd Feelings?

You gotta build on your self-esteem. Communicate with more people at your age, understand them, and slowly let yourself be someone your age, then you won't feel odd. I think your mindset is kinda mature, but your heart is kinda locked up to yourself. Try to open your heart and accept the reality. Perhaps you just haven't found friends that are of same interest as you. Like reading or self learning is not odd, that sounds kinda independent. Just open up your heart and let new people and new things enter your life. Then you will feel better about yourself and your life.

ok so for a college project we have to do a celebrity or characters hair-do on a polystrene (spelling?) head.

i decided to do medusa the greek mythology thingy with snakes as hair.

ive done it ok but it looks a bit boring the face and the hair are the same colour green thats what makes it look boring,

before the face was a diffrent shade of green but i have to make the face darker because you could see the paper mache.

i want it to stay green

i just need to know what patterns or what i could do to the snakes to make them look better!??? anyone know

Draw scale patterns on the snakes, and incorporate shading, not only on the snakes, but also at the hairline.

How about doing her hair in rollers? Leave the hair as snakes but curl them up so that only their heads stick out then you can really work on the snakes face.
